Pulsed Radiofrequency (PRF) Generator

Spring2

A dedicated PRF platform for modern, minimally invasive pain management.

The Spring2 pulsed radiofrequency generator

What it is

The Spring2 is a compact, portable Pulsed Radiofrequency (PRF)-only generator by Springlife Medical (Netherlands), carrying the clinical legacy of Prof. Menno Sluijter, the originator of PRF for chronic pain. Unlike combined RF units it is dedicated to PRF — a non-destructive, neuromodulatory treatment. It performs both transcutaneous (through-the-skin, no needle) and invasive (needle-based) treatments, has a guided touchscreen, uses skin electrodes whose size it auto-detects to prevent burns, treats up to three levels at once, and stores data to USB. It is positioned at an accessible price point for a second treatment room.

Because it is dedicated to PRF — not a combined thermal RF unit — treatment is non-destructive and neuromodulatory, designed to calm pain signalling while preserving nerve function.

How it works

  1. 1

    Place the electrodes

Adhesive skin electrodes — or a needle probe for invasive use — are positioned at the treatment site. The device auto-detects electrode size.

  2. 2

    Deliver pulsed RF

Short pulses of radiofrequency energy are applied without destructively heating tissue — modulating how pain signals are transmitted.

  3. 3

    Guided, on-screen

A touchscreen guides the session and records treatment data to USB — up to three levels can be treated at once.

Key features & safety

PRF-only technology

Dedicated to pulsed RF — non-destructive and nerve-preserving.

Transcutaneous + invasive

Treat through the skin with no needle, or with a needle probe when indicated.

Burn-safe electrodes

Electrodes are auto-sized to help prevent burns.

Up to 3 levels at once

Treat up to three sites simultaneously in a single session.

Guided touchscreen

An intuitive interface guides each step of treatment.

USB data storage

Treatment records export to USB for your files.

Clinical applications

Pulsed radiofrequency is used across a range of common chronic and musculoskeletal pain conditions, including:

  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Chronic low back pain
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Facet (spinal) joint pain
  • Radicular / nerve-root pain
  • Peripheral neuropathic pain
